It’s a beautiful day! The sun is shining, the birds are busy repairing their nests, and it’s supposed to venture into the 70′s this weekend!
Spring is my favorite time of the year. It’s when the first brave flowers poke their heads out and Winter gives it up in the face of such delicate beauty. Sometimes it makes one last-ditch effort to hang on and blasts us with a Spring snow, but really who can hold out in the face of such hopefulness? Everything else is still sleeping, or just starting to wake up as in the case of my daffodils, but here comes the forsythia, blazing the trail for Spring and brightening up the drab that Winter is leaving behind.
I’m going to spend as much of this weekend outside soaking up the sun as I can. It’s time to start getting the garden ready for planting, and to clean up all the branches and mess that Winter leaves.
What are your weekend plans?

How beautiful! I’m thrilled that spring has sprung in our corner of the world. It feels like spring here too. We’ve had an unusually cold and rainy winter, but today is sunny and the temperature is perfect.
Doing some things today that I don’t have time to do during the week, then hanging with some friends tonight. Don’t know about tomorrow, but the kid is spending the night at our friends’ house and going out tomorrow afternoon with them, so maybe a movie date with the husband…

@Finn, I can’t tell you how happy spring makes me! Our winter seemed to be especially cranky this year, so it’s nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I should be more quiet about it, though, or risk angering winter enough that it comes back. It has been known to snow here on the 4th of July!
I love movie dates with hub! Have a great weekend

I’m so in love with Spring! I’m also so in love with being back home to watch it bloom…the smells and sounds here remind me of when I was young.

@Hilly, I love Spring the most too, I just wish it would stick around. We’re supposed to have 70 degrees tomorrow and then 40′s next week with the possibility of snow. Eek!
