Today I turn 42, which everyone knows is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Since this year is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything, I’m expecting great things all year long.  (Are you listening, Universe?  I said Great Things!  All.  Year.  Long.)  During the Year of 42:

  • I will discover the secret to the end of suffering.
  • I will buy the winning lottery ticket. (see bullet point #1)
  • I will finally get Mario out of that damn castle and rescue that Princess beesh.
  • My garden will explode with color and tasty goodness, despite my very black and grizzled thumb.
  • Vegetables will taste like Lucky Charms.  Especially the ones that come out of my garden and they will be magically delicious.
  • I will have to turn down that contract to be a supermodel so that I can spend quality time with my family.
  • My boobs will magically levitate themselves back into place, much like invisible hands were carrying them around all the time.
  • Steve Jobs will mail me an iPad just for being awesome.
  • My true voice will finally come through and I will no longer be forced to hide my light in the car with my off-pitch hag voice.
  • And finally, I’m pretty sure rainbows and unicorns are going to shoot right out my ass all year long.  Well maybe not unicorns – that might leave a mark. But I know my farts will be pink and sparkly and smell like candy.

I don’t think these are unreasonable expectations at all.  I’m looking forward to the Year of 42.  (Great Things…remember that Universe.  Maybe you want to write it down.)

@Poppy, I think the answer is going to be to actually have someone walk behind me and hold them up, but it’s worth a try.
