When the Queen made her non-bucket list bucket list I thought it was a great idea.  Like her, I don’t have a set list of things I want to do before I die.  I’m kind of a one-day-at-a-time gal and even on vacations I don’t really like to make plans.  I’d much rather see where life takes me.  Instead of pining for the things I haven’t yet done, I want to savor and celebrate the things I have.  Or, in the case of things I’d rather never do again, well I want to celebrate those too so that I don’t forget what it was like.  So here’s a list of some of the things I’ve done, the things that I’m already carrying around in my bucket.

  1. Been on TV, numerous times
  2. Traveled all over the country
  3. Lost 100 lbs
  4. Gained 100 lbs
  5. Was detained by the police at a concert, but not arrested
  6. Lost my shirt at the same concert and ended up half naked for the night
  7. Kissed a girl
  8. Had a Springer Show style showdown in the middle of the cul-de-sac with the ex-hub, the police, and my grandfather’s shotgun.
  9. Crossed the United States in a car four times
  10. Visited 35 of the 50 states, lived in 5 of them
  11. Scuba dived (dove?) in Cancun
  12. Learned to shoot after the trauma of #8
  13. Lived in Italy
  14. Ran several 5Ks
  15. Been evicted
  16. Got a large tattoo that took multiple sessions
  17. Pierced things that were not visible with clothing on
  18. Met a boy “off the internet” and stayed with him for a weekend (a long time ago, in another life)
  19. Swam in the Mediterranean Sea
  20. Watched a play in an outdoor amphitheater that was over 800 years old.
  21. Walked the streets of Pompeii
  22. Loved and lost, and loved again.
  23. Caught two fish on the same line.
  24. Went polar bear swimming, back when I was young and dumb.
  25. Been robbed by a “friend”
  26. Gave a car away to someone who couldn’t pay for it

I imagine I will be adding to this list the rest of my life.  How about you?  What’s on your list?

How does one “lose” your shirt at a concert? I’d love to hear that story.

Let’s see, from your list I’ve: kissed a girl, swum in the Mediterranean Sea, walked the streets of Pompeii, loved and lost and loved again, got a tattoo (but not a big one) and been on TV (a couple of times, not numerous).

I can add to that: Performed on the trapeze, did voiceovers for numerous radio commercials and been in a high-security meeting room at the Secret Service in Washington, DC.

@Finn, Oh my gosh I would be terrified of the trapeze! I’m so afraid of heights it’s ridiculous.

The lost shirt was during a Cure/Billy Idol concert in the 80′s. The same concert where I almost got arrested!

Tattoo lovers understand their body as a canvas wherein the tattoo art form is to be engraved. Normally, women prefer small tattoo photographs and designs with lucid colors.
