- I have been cooking entirely too much food from The Pioneer Woman‘s website. My ass may never be the same, but my belly has never been happier! The frequent flier has been PW’s Perfect Pancakes. I’ve made them several times and she doesn’t lie, they are perfect and easy to make. Even if you forget to put in the melted butter. *cough* They are especially yumtastic if you drop fresh blueberries into them right after you pour the batter on the griddle.
- I’m working on a new cake project that may be too cute. There should be laws against cuteness overload. It involves a little monkey business, but we won’t talk about that yet.
- Speaking of cute, my dog should thank her lucky stars that she hit every branch on the cute tree. It’s the only thing that has saved her since she apparently has lost the ability to control her bladder. I think it’s her new allergy medication (this time), but that doesn’t make it all that much better when I’m apparently the only person in the house worthy of peeing on. It’s the exact 0pposite of awesome.
- I am on the fence about my Halloween costume. I’d like to give you details, but I can’t. It’s on a need to know basis. I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you. I will tell you that I am contemplating pink hair extensions.
- Speaking of hair I got mine did this weekend and realized as I was sitting in the chair that I hadn’t had it done for 3 months. Oops. No wonder I was brassy enough to turn your finger green! Now I’m blondacious, and may even have crossed over into the over-blond zone, but I don’t care. Can I also take a moment to expound on the virtues of the salon blow-out? There is nothing so fabulous as a blow-out you don’t have to do yourself!
- I just deleted two more bullets that were even more boring than the bullets above. I know, you didn’t think it possible, but I saved you from them so you can thank me now. I take cash or checks.

PW’s recipes have been hitting our house a lot lately. I’ve been bored with our usual and so much of her stuff just looks so damn good! My favorite so far has been a shrimp penne pasta with a tomato cream sauce. Think she calls it “Pasta a la Betsy” and you have to try it! So easy yet soooo good. Haven’t tried those pancakes yet. Rocked my grandma’s buttermilk pancake recipe this morning – maybe I’ll try those next week.
