Every new project starts with a little shopping. Does it look like a cake project yet?
How about now? Yes, that’s an anvil. No I didn’t use an anvil on this cake, but there was a torch involved. It’s like Monster Garage, only it’s cake.
Yes I always make fake antlers with my computer close by. Why do you ask?
Now you’re looking like something! But you need a little…schmutz. Those woodland creatures aren’t known for their bathing habits.
Ahhh, there we go! Airbrushes aren’t just for poofy clouds and rainbows yanno.
I’ll tell you a little secret – hidden under that chocolate fondant is dark chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream. It’ll make your panties fall right off, it’s that good. I don’t make this stuff up.

Cake was for finacee’s bday! The raves and comments from the looks alone were the centerpiece of the bbq!! When he finally worked up the guts to dive into the cake, everyone was FLOORED!!! It’s amazing!! Words cannot describe the looks or the taste!! This Cake Queen really does know her shiz!! And yes, crazy MIL, I got this one handled! XO~ love you Princess Buttercream!!

Wow, the antlers look great! I never would have thought about using copper piping to create the framework. It makes it very easy! Thank you for sharing!

I have a question. When I tried the camo out of three different fondant colors and pressed them together then put it over the cake the edges where the colors met came apart. Why?
Your cake looks great.

@Geneva, Maybe not enough rolling? I Rolled out the white first, but kept it thicker, and then added small pieces of the other colors and rolled them together until the whole thing was thin enough. You have to work fast because it’s when the edges of the smaller pieces start to dry that they pull apart. Make sure your fondant is moist and don’t use cornstarch on top. If you have to you can paint the edges with a bit of water on a paintbrush.
Hope this helps!
