Approximately 100 years ago there was this thing going around the blogosphere called 100 Things About Me, or something like that. I started mine maybe 99 years ago and never finished, but since I have a lot of the dumbass in my gene pool I didn’t save them and now I have to start from scratch. Because I’m incredibly narcissistic I’m completely convinced that you want to know all there is to know about me, in one hundred bullet points or less. So without further ado I give you the first 10.
- Until I hit my very late 30′s I was afraid to color my hair. Then the grays hit and now I cannot be stopped. My hair has gotten lighter and lighter over the past few years and I soon expect to be doing my Stevie Nicks impersonation on stage at the Silver Legacy. It’s always nice to have a backup plan for when my current career hits the shitter.
- I am a Pisces and thusly I love the water. It makes me a little batshit to be marooned in the middle of the desert with no visible bodies of water unless I drive to a lake somewhere. After years of living on coastlines, or islands, I’m feeling like a beached whale.
- I have moved no less than 18 times in my life. That doesn’t count moving within the same town; I mean packing my shit up and hauling it cross country. Repeately. Some of those have been literally from coast to coast, and once even to a different country. And back.
- I have the wanderlust (see #3). Wicked bad. I’m jonesing for a move as we speak. I have been in the same location for 8 years now. That’s more than I’ve spent in one place in my entire life. I’m old. That’s a long time. A really long time.
- One of my favorite movies of all time is Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Bernice! has left her cake out in the rain! Wicked funny.
- My favorite band of all time is Oingo Boingo, and Danny Elfman is a musical genius.
- I was named Lisa Marie very shortly after the more famous Lisa Marie. What a giant pain in the ass! My mother swears it’s a total coincidence but I am not convinced. She has been making my life difficult from the very beginning. This is just proof.
- I love to make things, preferably artsy fartsy things. I used to have some talent. Had I developed my talent I could have been a contender. As it is I have to re-learn what used to come naturally so that I can channel my artsiness into my cakes. Finally I have a medium that suits me to a tee – food + art. Perfect.
- Since I mentioned food, I have a little problem with that. It’s sort of ruling my world right now but sometimes I can beat it into submission. But that’s a post or ten all by it(them)self(ves).
- I am a grammar snob. I know, you couldn’t tell. I hide it well. Underneath the wordcrafting lies a complete and utter word snob. I will not admit that there are times when I fall seriously short of perfect grammar myself. Technical review of other people’s writing is one of the things I do for pay, so it’s kind of hard to shut it off.
So there you have the first set of 1o things you never wanted to know about me! I know you’re waiting with bated breath for the next 1o.

Wow, that is really interesting about Oingo Boingo! I love them to pieces though….every time I hear anything from the Dead Man’s Party album, I am whisked back in time to days of sunbathing and drinking with friends. Ahhh, good times.

This fully confirms that I like you. And that we are a lot alike. Yes, I know that was an incomplete sentence. I’m a total grammar Nazi to everyone but myself.
I’m not a Pisces, but I have to stay near the ocean, too.

@SJ,
Yeah, I kind of skip the rules myself a lot
I use a lot of incomplete sentences and I’m totally shameless about it!
I am seriously jonesing for an ocean view. Before I lived here I was on the Atlantic coast for 3 years; before that I was in the Med for 2 years. Now I live in the desert! We built a pond in the back yard last summer but it’s just not the same.
